This is amazing. I loved reading it and applying it to my life. Due to my mother's own self-deception, I imagine she would never label herself a "hostile telepath." But it explains so much about my current self-deceptions! And it's a great model for looking how I am being like that with others. Much appreciated!
Quite welcome! I'm glad you've found it meaningful. I certainly have! Sometimes I can help others to switch from self-deception to occlumency, and that's really satisfying when it works. It's pretty cool when others sort of blink in surprise and say something like "Oh. Huh. The tiredness vanished. And, uh, yeah, I see why it was there." (At which point I often remind them NOT to immediately tell me what they just realized!)

A telepath is only as good as their subject.
That's where I started to smell the bullshit as a kid and would regularly test this "telepath" by giving her small lies.
After a couple of lies she believed, I knew she couldn't really read my mind.
The irony is that Elon Musk etc think they can read minds with tech as if we all use the same programming lol.
