What personal data do I collect?

I use contact forms to collect your name and email address, for registration for courses or events.
Emails
I retain copies of emails sent to me. These may contain personal information (name, email address and any personal information in message contents).
Mailing lists and newsletters

I will record your communication preferences when you subscribe to my email newsletter and may monitor whether you open my emails and which links you click on. Substack may also log your Internet Protocol (IP) address, and the type of web browser used.
Phone/video calls
Any personal information given through phone or video calls (name, phone numbers and any other personal information given during calls) may be held by me in accordance with this privacy policy.
I record group Zoom calls in my programs. If you participate in any such program, this means you might be recorded and that I’ll retain a recording.
I likewise record 1-on-1 Zoom sessions unless otherwise requested.
Social media
I use social media to engage with my users and I link to my pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. I hold details of my social media followers, according to what is shared by you and the platform concerned.
If you send me a direct message via social media, any personal information given by you will be held by me in accordance with this privacy policy. That means I hold your information where it is legitimate for my business interests and in order to provide my services to you. The third-party provider may also retain details in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
This website may use social sharing buttons that help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question. The use of social sharing buttons is at your own discretion. Social media platforms may track and save your request to share a web page.

Cookies
My websites use cookies to track user behavior on the website. Cookies are small files that are saved to your computer hard drive. This enables me to improve how the site functions and the services we offer through it. It enables me to provide you with a tailored experience when using the site. When someone visits my sites, I use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect details of visitor behavior patterns (eg how many people visit particular pages on my site and when). This information is to help me market my services to the right people in the best ways. This information does not allow me to identify users.

Photographs
To enhance my communications, I use photos and videos on my website and in newsletters and social media posts. I will ask your permission before using photos or videos that include you and will explain what the images will be used for – either verbally or as part of the sign-up/contracting process for an event.
Payment processing
I use Stripe to process customer payments for my services. You may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number and credit / debit card information. Stripe will collect personal identification information from users on behalf of me only if they voluntarily submit such information to them. Special categories of data
Data protection laws specify special categories of personal data (such as ethnic or racial origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual life or criminal record). For my business, I don’t collect special categories of data. However, I recognize that my clients may volunteer other special category information while communicating with me.

Your personal information is held only until it is no longer required or has no use.
Sharing information with third parties
I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties unless I have gained your permission. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist me in operating my website, conducting my business, or serving my readers or clients – so long as those parties agree to keep your information secure and confidential. It also does not include institutions which require attendance registers for trainings/classes/events held at their premises. I may also release information when it’s appropriate to comply with the law, enforce site policies, or protect the rights, property or safety of myself or others.

Occasionally, at my discretion, I may include or offer third-party products or services through my website or electronic communications. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies, which I am not responsible or liable for. However, I care about the quality and integrity of what I’m linking to and I welcome any feedback about other sites.
Data security
My websites are hosted via third-party hosting providers, who handle the data security for my websites, SSL, etc—I’m not a website developer. They meet all standard security measures. These include Substack, Google Drive, and Mighty Networks.

However, the Internet is not completely secure and I cannot guarantee the security of personal data transmitted through my website or by email. Users provide personal details at their own discretion and their own risk. If I become aware of a data breach I will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities.

You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you. I will endeavor to respond quickly to any such requests; legally, I am required to respond within one month of receiving the request and any other necessary information.
